TUCSON, AZ, Oct. 16, 2018 - SGNT, a Tucson-based startup tech company, won the People’s Choice Award presented by Tucson Electric Power at the IdeaFunding pitch competition in Tucson today. SGNT was one of 27 companies selected to compete in the Startup Pitch event out of a total pool of over 80 applicants. The company successfully presented in the morning pitch competition and was one of six companies selected to present on the mainstage during the evening pitch competition.
The two co-founders, Emil Tremblay and Tommy Rompel, along with their startup team were presented with a check for $1000 on-stage during the awards ceremony. “The recognition and exposure for us is the most part of this event, and as a startup, the prize is a welcome bonus that goes a long way for a startup company,” said co-founder Emil Tremblay at the end of the event. His business partner Tommy Rompel added, “the whole experience has been amazing, including the mentorship provided in preparation. It gave is great focus and clarity on where we need to take our business.”
