Building a startup company isn’t easy. Regardless of the resources and technology in your tool belt, you still start at ground zero and have to figure out how to develop and sell a novel technology. There are also the cliché sayings, “there is no ‘I’ in team”, and, “it takes a village…”. While many of us have heard these ad-nauseum, they’re true for a reason! You simply cannot do it on your own, and an amazing community will accelerate the process!
We feel fortunate for the progress we have made and the community around us. We get asked all the time, “How did you build your team and move so fast?” The short answer is the community but let me explain in a little more detail.
When Emil and I (Tommy) made enough progress on our own, we decided to go “public” with our company and our idea. Going “public” of course is meant in the sense of going out into the community, not an IPO 😊. “How did you do that?” you might ask. It’s simple – we went out and started networking constantly.
During this networking process (which we are still active in), we discovered lots of amazing people, organizations, and gems of insight which helped us grow.
In Team and Community – Part 2, I will explain and explore this idea in detail!
